What were you doing before you started working at Filthy Dripped?
It may sound crazy but I’ve worked from being a Fed-ex Handler, Aviation Parts Specialist, to a Dialysis Technician in the past 5 years. I’m 25 right now! I’ve did it all I was a regular old dude trying to get my shit straight. Not leaving the passion for Fashion/Art far behind me. I also got my name Nautiks from the Aviation Trade school, Sierra Academy of Aero”nautics,” which I graduated from in Oakland CA, as a Aviation Mechanic.
How’d You Get Started?
I’ve been doing the Custom Painted tees since 2003, at first it was just a way for me to express myself from others, it then created a great buzz for quite a while. I painted in the Garage of my parents house at the same time going to junior college. I also painted for Baysic (which is the same spot I work at now) I worked with Jae Knox of BMC clothing and painted for the brand LEGENDS LTD. with them for about 6 months. I still continued my online sales as well. After everything slowed down I chose to go back to work while meeting new business oppurtunities, which we together opened up shop.
I’m hearing you also do a lot of Tattoo work? What made you wanna go into that field?
Tattoos, I’ve always loved tattoos, I have a quite few which i still need to fill up. It’s just like the Tees it’s a way of expressing myself. It hit me at my last job with me working with needles, sterilization and patients as a Dialysis Technician. I thought to myself and was like I can do this. I felt like I’ve been doing it for years! I just started in the beginning of 2008. Everything is falling in place for me. Hit me up or visit my personal website at Nautiks.com which I will be posting New artwork/fashion done by me. Also get ready for my NEW Brand, Toxic Lunchbox!
How do You Guys keep up wit the Up and Coming and Strong Designs?
We got a team of creative minds. We try to bring out designs no one has or will have. We are trendesetters, not mentioning I did win Best dress in the 8th grade and a Nominee for my Senior year! Yah Diig!? Our Trend is your Fashion. We do go to shows and conventions for clothing such as the Magic Fashion show in Vegas which comes twice a year, as well as the Agenda Show in San Diego. Fashion is me!
Any truth to the rumor you guys are coming Out wit a Nike shoe?
Shoes, Jackets, any apparel you name it we will have it! Our goal is be our own boutique with our own Brand, built ground up from your fellow Bay Area Representaz. 2009 will be the year we actually start focusing into it. Get ready for a lot of New Clothing from Filthy Dripped. Also keep checking out our website for updates, FilthyDripped.com
Sum people don’t know that You also Make shirts…What led You to that field?
A lot of people think i do the other when it comes down to it. It’s real stressfull runnin’ a shop as well as also making Custom Clothing for customers at the same time. I also do a lot for the company itself dealing with buying as well as designing with my fellow partners. Besides the Shop I am a part-time Barber as well as a Tattoo artist. Who needs a fade? Got design work Holla! Everything leads to another, I cannot do everything but as long as I got a shit load of shit to fall back on, I can keep busy.
